Nina (Hlebarova) Malone '04
One of Nina (Hlebarova) Malone's most memorable VWC moments is crafting a life-size paper boat and sending it out to sea at YMCA Camp Silver Beach. Seems fitting, then, that today the 2004 graduate of the Liberal Arts Management Program (LAMP) works with larger-than-life-size boats as the director of market analysis for the Port of Virginia.

As a fine arts major who confesses to absconding with every issue of Artforum magazine as soon as it arrived in Hofheimer Library, Doug Welch '75 had already set his sights on a career as an artist in New York City by the time he was a junior at Virginia Wesleyan.

Darlene (Whitley) Rawls '82
A Hampton Roads native, Darlene (Whitley) Rawls '82 grew up in Suffolk, Virginia. She received her VWC degree in social sciences before earning a master's in special education. As an undergrad, Rawls was involved in the community service club Circle K, sponsored by Kiwanas. Giving back to her community is a cause she is still passionate about today, as is evident through her involvement with and contributions to VWC's Heritage Society and Annual Fund for Academic Excellence.
Dr. Howard Krum '85
A biology major at Virginia Wesleyan, Howard Krum '85 has combined his love for animals, science and creative communication into a career as a veterinarian and a writer. The Pennsylvania native played golf and other intramural sports at VWC while building long-lasting relationships with friends and professors.
John Lockerby '96
Based on his extracurricular activities as a Virginia Wesleyan student-Habitat for Humanity, Student Government Association, and a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity-it comes as no surprise that John Lockerby '96 now serves the community of Skokie, Illinois as village manager.
Frederick (Eric) Ivan Archer II '90
Originally from Temple Hills, Maryland, Eric Archer majored in biology at Virginia Wesleyan, was a resident assistant and was involved in Tang Soo Do martial arts. He now lives in San Diego, California and works as a Principal Investigator in the Marine Mammal Genetics Group at the Southwest Fisheries Science Center, a science lab in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Adminstration (NOAA).
Tim Bailey '83
While he was at Virginia Wesleyan, Tim Bailey '83 was able to indulge both his love for America's pastime and his head for business, a combination that would set him on the road to professional success.
