Norfolk Forum

One of the nation's oldest continuous public lecture series — and Batten scholars get a seat in the room.

Founded in 1933, the Norfolk Forum is one of the nation's oldest continuous public lecture series. For more than 80 years, the Forum has hosted a diverse slate of internationally known and eminent figures speaking to current cultural, literary, and governmental issues.

As a sponsor of the Norfolk Forum, the Batten Honors College offers scholars the opportunity to hear directly from world leaders, authors, scientists, and professionals — the kind of access that simply doesn't happen in a classroom.

Each year, the BHC selects students to attend each of the four lectures offered as part of the Norfolk Forum season. Students are chosen through a competitive process overseen by the Dean of the Batten Honors College.
