The General Education Mobile (GEM) Program is an exciting partnership between the Community College of the Air Force and Virginia Wesleyan University to offer General Education courses to meet the general education requirements for the CCAF associates in applied science. Virginia Wesleyan’s online courses enable students to complete their general education requirements during our mini-terms that are offered 4 times a year.
Air Force Portal Guide
- Log into the Air Force Portal and select Air Force Virtual Education Center (AFVEC).
- Select “GEM Program” and search for Approved GEM Schools.
- Find Virginia Wesleyan University and view the list of approved general education courses.
- Click on the course title to view the course description.
- If you do not already have a CCAF education goal, you will need to create one.
- Once you have completed your CCAF education goals, you can apply for Air Force Tuition Assistance in the AFVEC portal. Virginia Wesleyan’s OPEID code is 00376700
- Register online or call your local Education and Training Section to discuss the best GEM course options for you. Please identify yourself as a GEM student when you call.
